The Opportunity:

An opportunity exists for a Director Medical Services to join well-establish not-for-profit Melbourne Health Organisation. The Director Medical Services is responsible for providing strong medical leadership, ensuring high quality medical care is delivered across the Service.

Reporting to Executive General Manager Rehabilitation & Mental Health, with professional accountability to the Executive Director Academic and Medical / CMO.
The Director Medical Services will promote and represent the Hospitals Psychiatry Medical Workforce and programs internally and externally.
This position is seeking an established Medical Leader, keen to transfer their skills and knowledge around:
Overview of Responsibilities:

• Medical workforce; departmental structure and planning

• Business development: working with key stakeholders, community engagement, planning, recruitment, retention

• Multidisciplinary team coordination

• VMO Specialist appointments, orientation and support

• Provide peer-support and supervision as required

• Clinical governance; policies and procedure development and implementation

• Strategic business planning and support

• Medical

Advisory

Council

and the Group Executive Medical Services

• Education and development of Junior doctors

• Support Senior Medical Staff with CPD

The Purpose:

To provide strong clinical and medical leadership, expertise and advise to ensure high quality medical care, is delivered across the service, whilst ensuring effective clinical governance and compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.
To position the service as Melbournes leader in Private Mental Health care, through excellent patient-centred-outcomes.

• Director of ECT
• Hospital Medical Fellows / Registrars as applicable

Key Relationships:

Medical Advisory Committee, Executive Director Academic & Medical – Chief Medical Officer, Dean of Medicine, Directors of Clinical Institutes, VMOs, Specialists, Doctors in Training, Employed Doctors, GPs, Executive & Senior Management Teams, Colleague Medical Directors, NUMs, Practice Managers & Medical Services staff.
