Job Description

Our Engineering business has recently been strengthened through the acquisitions of Lendlease Engineering and the Geotech Group, positioning ACCIONA as a leading provider of engineering services within the infrastructure sector. We provide services to public and private clients with a focus on Roads, Bridges and Tunnels, Rail and Civil Infrastructure projects.

ACCIONA are seeking to engage an Estimator to be based in VIC. Reporting to the Estimating Manager, this position is responsible for the preparation of tenders in the region. Working as part of the wider Estimating Group, gaining experience on a variety of tenders in Infrastructure (Rail; Road; Tunnel).

Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing and assessing tenders ensuring all tender documents are received and are correct.
  • Compiling letters of offer, tender schedules, program and other items required by the tender.
  • Calculating and preparing quantities on labour, plant, material and sub-contractor costs
  • Reviewing tender documents assessing scope, risks involved, tender complexity etc and provide feedback to the Executive Director.
  • Assessment of tenders
  • Surveying - conduct site inspections for tender understanding, analysis of conditions, assessment of risk and identification of activities that may or may not be shown in the tender documents.
  • Sourcing subcontractors & suppliers capable of complying with tender in coordination with other Estimators.
  • Compiling letters of offer, tender schedules, program and other items required by the tender.
  • Once tender is completed incorporate all relevant details, forward to Senior Managers for review and approval prior to submission.
  • Compiling relevant tender information into Benchmark & estimate price.
  • As necessary provide support and respond to tender queries made by project team personnel.
  • Estimate using appropriate estimation software (CCS or Expert preferred)
  • Preparing accurate presentations with the aim of summarizing the estimation strategy and assumptions
  • Prepare Cash Flow Analysis

Required Skills and Competencies

You will have completed a Degree in Engineering / similar with proven Estimating experience (site-based experience, preferably in sub-divisions); major Road & Rail & Tunnel construction projects experience is ideal. Demonstrated knowledge of planning and construction methodologies will see you succeed in this role, as will having excellent communication and analytical skills.
