This is an exclusive opportunity with a Western Sydney-based civil company that is thriving in NSW. They currently have projects on their books in Sydney that cover roads, bulk excavation, subdivisions, and general civil projects. The company are well established for over 20 years with a strong reputation as a company that deliver a high calibre of projects.

They have expanded in the last few years and have successfully delivered on projects valued to $40milion. They are in the next phase of their expansion in NSW and are now looking to employ a contracts / commercial manager for their civil infrastructure division.

The role will be leading the contracts and commercial division working closely with the senior management to assess business opportunities. You will be responsible for the financial management of projects, putting together contractual obligations for new projects, and negotiating and agreeing on contracts.

You will lead the commercial team with all contracts and assist the estimating team in winning new business, exploring new avenues of activity and business opportunities that the company can nurture in its bid to further develop its reputation and grow. You will also have project managers as indirect reports and assisting the well-established and successful estimating team.
This company is offering an autonomous opportunity to build and lead your own team in a highly successful environment. You will partner with members of the senior leadership team and the bid management project staff in formulating the commercial strategy and developing solutions for a variety of projects. You will provide insightful advice on pricing along with the financial impact of different solutions. You will apply your commercial acumen to the balance of risk versus return and be seen as the commercial and contracts advisor on major civil projects. 

It is essential that you are an experienced contracts manager / commercial manager with civil or construction experience. You will have 10-15 years of post-graduate experience ideally with a quantity surveying or commercial management degree. You will require either tier one or tier two experience and a proven ability in the Australian market. Your project portfolio will have to include projects at a minimum of $50million and upwards. It is essential you have local experience. 

This role will suit someone that has the drive to succeed and may currently feel held back with an inflexible corporate structure. This is a high-priority senior position in the company.
