Customer Engineers (CEs)are deep technical advisors who guide Enterprise customers to deliver unique value by removing blockers to consumption within their given Solution Area, in this case,M365 and M365 Products. CEs provide technical guidance including risk assessments and tuning to operate and optimize a customer’s cloud or on-premises environment. Customer Engineer services can be delivered either remotely or on-premises.

Responsibilities



The primary focus and responsibility for this role will be to Microsoft customers in their adoption and governance of cloud services, with emphasis in the following areas:




  • Governance of M365 platform capabilities with a focus on modern work applications, in particular Exchange, SharePoint and Teams.



  • Delivery of workshops and proactive engagements with the goal of upskilling customer teams on M365 capabilities and removing blockers to successful implementation.


  • Helping organisations to meet their compliance requirements, including alignment between M365 configuration and industry or Government standards.


  • Considering security aspects to configuration at all times and helping customer to implement services which are fit to the customers and well balanced in terms of security vs usability.




The ideal candidate will be totally customer obsessed around delivering an outstanding service, able to devise and implement action plans and communicate clearly with both internal and external stakeholders.



More about the Customer Egineer role:




  • The CE position is an evolution of the Premier Field Engineer (PFE) role and is regarded as one of the more technical customer facing Microsoft roles with a focus on technical excellence in the CE’s chosen field.


  • CE’s are key SME’s in their field and are often working with new and preview capabilities that are not yet broadly used and are sometimes not yet documented. This means that CE’s need to be proactive in terms of their education, track roadmaps and community announcements and learn how to use new features to address customer challenges.


  • The role is largely customer facing and involves working closely with customers to either educate them on your area of expertise or help them solve their challenges, blockers, configuration issues and the odd critical incident.



  • CE’s work closely with customer account teams to offer strategic advice and plan service delivery, working to strengthen targeted customer relationships.


  • The CE role works with existing Microsoft resources but also has the opportunity to create deliverables to address common customer needs & support mobile-first, cloud-first strategy, which they can then share with other CE’s to contribute to the success of the team.




Qualifications



We are keen to engage with talented individuals who can demonstrate expertise in a specific solution or several M365 products and lead our customers on their M365 adoption and consumption. We are looking for candidates who are experienced in and keen to learn more about learning the following areas:




  • Microsoft 365 Compliance Center



  • Microsoft 365 Security Center


  • Exchange Online Administration


  • Microsoft Teams Administration


  • SharePoint Online Administration


  • Azure Active Directory



  • Industry and Government requirements (including PSPF)




The ideal candidate would have pursued the following certifications:




  • Exam MS- 500 : Microsoft 365 Certified Security Administrator Associate


  • Certification in a modern work area (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams)




Other skills for this position should include:




  • An analytical approach to problem solving.


  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, both verbal and written


  • Ability to deliver presentations, discuss the products features at a solutions level.



  • The ability to manage customer escalations and work under pressure.


  • The ability to perform self-directed learning in a rapidly changing environment.


  • Capabilities to operate in a flexible team environment with minimal supervision.


  • Hold, or be eligible to hold and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance
