We are seeking a Senior GIS Analyst (Level 5) and a GIS Analyst (Level 4) , these are permanent full-time positions, (however consideration may be given to applicants seeking part-time opportunities). This process may be used to fill future similar permanent or fixed-term positions that may arise across the WA public sector in the next 12 months from the initial date of appointment. 

The Data Analytics Branch are seeking enthusiastic and talented Geospatial professionals to join the team. These roles use forward focus to anticipate change and embrace new technologies and contributing to decision making processes to ensure the Department’s work is supported by systems and processes that enhance the way we work, deliver results for Western Australia, and exceed expectations of our stakeholders.

This role is responsible for undertaking complex geospatial data processing, analysis, manipulation, modelling supporting planning, lands and heritage programs and provides technical expertise for the Department, including the Western Australian Planning Commission.

To be successful for the Senior GIS Analyst (Level 5) position, you need to demonstrate:  

Demonstrated experience in the Geographic Information System (GIS) using ESRI software in Strategic GIS Analysis team environment.

Demonstrated conceptual, analytical and problem-solving experience performing complex, multi-criteria GIS Analysis within a complex business environment including troubleshooting and resolution of systems problems.

Experience and Knowledge of current and emerging trends in a GIS and ESRI environment.

High Level written and communication skills, with the ability to produce procedural documentation

To be successful for the GIS Analyst position (Level 4) position you need to demonstrate:  

Demonstrated experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in a Strategic GIS Analysis team environment.

Demonstrated experience performing complex, multi-criteria GIS Analysis tasks within an ESRI GIS environment.

High level written and communication skills, with the ability to produce procedural documentation.
