Our client is probably the largest motor vehicle distributor in the South Pacific region, boasting a selection of world-recognised franchises covering the passenger vehicle, light commercial, heavy commercial, equipment, and machinery segments. In addition to its retail services, our client also operates parts, service, tyre, and panel divisions, as well as a host of complementary associated enterprises. Due to growth in their business, they are looking to appoint candidates to two key positions, being National Parts Manager and National Parts Business Development Manager . The National Parts Manager is responsible for the profitability and operational performance of the Parts Department and parts inventory at all dealership sites. This position is tasked with overall inventory management strategies, to ensure inventory is available when and where needed. Major accountabilities for the National Parts Manager will include: Manage national parts inventory, including forecasting, ordering and optimisation. Formulate and measure national targets for all major parts metrics. Formulate and update parts programs for the departsments across the country. Set standards and review operating systems running in the Parts Departments. Maintain and enhance wherever possible customer relationships, whilst identifying growth opportunities. Review from time to time operating procedures and facilities of the Parts Departments and make recommendation to the Group General Manager to upgrade or improve on staff expertise and facilities. Co-ordinate with the Executive Marketing Manager and National Service Manager to ensure relationship within the three inter-related departments is always in its utmost efficiency. Review from time to time safety standards are adhered to and appropriate training and instructions are carried out in all dealership locations across the country. Ensure that staff training programs are designed and carried out to the utmost standard of the industry and trade. Review and plan operating budgets and finalise before submission to the Financial Controller and the Group General Manager for approval. The National Parts Business Development Manager will focus on the overall performance of the companies parts activities with their extensive client base, as well as identifying new business opportunities or areas for growth. Major accountabilities for the National Parts Business Development Manager will include: Assist in the development of the annual budget plan for customers across all franchises Maximize sales revenue within PNG as required Developing the customer contact network to sustain the customer's needs through the retail network, with the goal of increasing Parts sales of all franchises by retaining and growing new customer relations Continuously improve initiatives to maintain and grow Parts and associated vehicle sales and services levels Maintain control on expenditure related to customer visitation and logistics arrangements for parts delivery and supply Leading, developing, and inspiring staff, including team building & training Develop close relationships with all major parts accounts To be successful in either of these roles, it is essential that you be able to demonstrate previous experience in a volume automotive parts operation. You will also need to demonstrate: A minimum of five years of successful experience as either a Parts Manager within a large, multi-franchise dealership, or as a Business Development Manager for a multi-franchise operation Automotive qualifications and excellent analytical skills Excellent communication and training /coaching skills Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of applications and Titan system Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to work with a variety of other cultures On offer for both positions is a generous remuneration package based on a negotiable retainer, plus annual incentive program.
