The Opportunity
Senior Exercise and Simulation Control (EXCON/SIMCON) is a senior role in the NSWC Operations team. This position reports to the EXCON/SIMCON Lead and acts the 2IC in the Operations team. This position involves supervising the development and execution of Synthetic events at NSWC. This role will liaise with client organisations requesting NSWC services and ensure that training aims are met by the NSWC events. This position will be required to supervise and lead the scenario development required for the synthetic event within the timelines governed by NSWC customer organisations; review specifications for the synthetic event and assist in generating robust test plans between the operations team and technical; and validate synthetic environment readiness prior to executing a training event. This position will also supervise the execution of Synthetic events and participate in these events in a leadership capacity. The Senior EXCON/SIMCON will act as EXCON/SIMCON Lead during the absence of the incumbent. Whilst the Senior EXCON/SIMCON will report mainly to the EXCON/SIMCON Lead, they will also report to the Cubic site manager when required.

- deploy on military exercises and will display
personal and professional skills and ability
to liaise with other areas of Defence.
Desirable
The Senior EXCON/SIMC works under general direction and uses discretion in identifying and resolving complex problems and assignments. The Senior EXCON/SIMCON must be capable of working autonomously in unsupervised conditions for certain periods, must provide leadership and direction to the EXCON/SIMCON team, and must be capable of determining when issues should be escalated to a higher level.
