Staff Specialist in Palliative Medicine
Permanent Part-time 0.5FTE (20 hours)
Manning Base Hospital
Manning Base Hospital is seeking a dedicated and passionate Palliative Medicine Specialist. You will provide expertise in clinical management and treatment of palliative care patients as part of an established specialist led palliative care team servicing the Lower Mid North Coast sector. Our team is expanding, and we are seeking a collaborative, enthusiastic individual with helpful behaviours to complement our existing service.
You will provide specialist palliative medicine support and education to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality, safe and well governed specialist palliative care. You will have a commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research and supervision and participate in quality activities, professional development, and continuing education. Applicants should be familiar with the five phases of palliative care and be well versed in best evidence approach to managing patients across the spectrum of palliative care presentations.
You may be eligible for a conjoint appointment with the University of Newcastle at an academic level commensurate with the applicant's qualifications and experience.
To be considered for this position you must hold Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP) or Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine (FAChPM).

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
An Eligibility List will be created for future temporary and permanent positions at Manning Base Hospital.
